This Privacy Policy describes how Locus ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address, display name, and profile picture (if provided).
• Conversation Data: When you use the AI assistant features, we collect the messages, instructions, and task descriptions you submit.
• Uploaded Files: When you upload files (such as documents or images) for AI processing, we collect and transmit those files to our AI service providers for processing.
• Generated Files: Files generated by the AI service (such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs) are stored on our servers and accessible through your account.
• Communications: When you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you, such as the contents of your message and any other information you choose to provide.

1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

• Device Contacts: We do not access or collect your device contacts.
• Location Data: We do not collect your geographic location.
• Login Credentials: Your passwords and authentication tokens are never shared with third-party AI services.

2. Third-Party AI Services and Data Sharing

2.1 AI Service Providers

Locus uses third-party artificial intelligence (AI) services to power its core features. When you interact with the AI assistant, your data is shared with the following third-party service providers:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Your conversation messages, task instructions, and uploaded files are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service for processing and generating responses. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• E2B (Code Execution): When tasks require code execution, relevant task data may be sent to E2B's sandboxed execution environments. E2B processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

2.2 What Data Is Shared with AI Services

The following types of data may be shared with the third-party AI services listed above:

• Your conversation messages and text inputs
• Task instructions and descriptions you provide
• Files you upload for AI processing (documents, images, etc.)
• Conversation history within a session (to maintain context)

2.3 What Data Is NOT Shared with AI Services

• Your email address or account credentials
• Your profile information (name, avatar)
• Your device information or contacts
• Data from other apps on your device

2.4 User Consent

Before using the AI features of Locus, you will be presented with a data sharing consent screen within the app that clearly explains what data is shared and with whom. You must explicitly agree to this data sharing before you can use the Service. If you do not agree, you may choose to sign out and not use the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• Process your conversations and tasks through AI service providers;
• Store your conversation history so you can access it later;
• Process and manage your account registration;
• Send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages;
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests;
• Communicate with you about products, services, and events offered by us (you may opt out at any time).

4. Information Sharing

In addition to the third-party AI service providers described in Section 2, we may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With Your Consent: We may share information when you direct us to do so.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
• Protection of Rights: We may disclose information when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your personal information. All data transmitted between your device and our servers, as well as between our servers and third-party AI services, is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app's Settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our servers.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• The right to access the personal information we hold about you;
• The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information;
• The right to request deletion of your personal information;
• The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• The right to withdraw your consent to data sharing with third-party AI services (by discontinuing use of the Service).

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
